Electric skateboards are often judged by a single metric: top speed. In reality, that number alone is meaningless without context. Actual speed in electric skateboarding is not about how fast a board can go, but how comfortable and controlled a rider feels while going fast. This article focuses exclusively on the SE1 Mini Dragon and SE1 Dragon, explaining what real-world speed actually means, how these boards achieve record-setting performance, and why stability is the defining factor at high velocity.
In real riding conditions, fast means comfortable.
Riders should never exceed their own capability or the functional limits of the electric skateboard they are riding. When comfort disappears, fear takes over, and fear immediately limits speed. The reason modern SE1 boards can safely reach dramatically higher speeds than other e‑boards is not simply power—it is the massive increase in stability, predictability, and control.

With upgraded 6384 170Kv motors, the SE1 Dragon has been verified at over 47 mph.
This level of speed was achieved without instability, wobble, or loss of control—something no competitor using conventional truck geometry can legitimately claim. New top‑speed records are being set regularly as development continues. Larger motors are already available, and 60+ mph capability is approaching, though such speeds are strictly reserved for expert riders in controlled conditions.

At high speeds, stability is the real limiter.
A board can have unlimited power, but without stability, riders are constrained by fear of crashing. If a rider is not comfortable with the board’s behavior, they will never keep the throttle pressed long enough to reach its actual top speed.
